Artificial grass process
Remove 50mm-100mm of turf this is usually carried out using a turf cutter depending on ground conditions.
Wooden Baton framing if required:
We install 50 x 25mm treated wooden battens around the perimeter and around any flower beds inside the fitting area. The artificial grass will be secured to these once the base is prepared.
We Fill the area with Type 1 MOT crushed rock to a depth of about 30mm (approximately 2 inches) then compact using a vibration plate.
Cover the crushed rock with a weed membrane.
We Use sharp sand (approximately 1 – 1.5 inch) to cover the weed membrane to bring the base height level with the batons, and compact again.
Fitting & Securing:
We lay the Artificial grass over the completed base and trim the grass to the area needed. Grass is securely fixed down and all joints are completed, with a final finish of buffering the grass ensuring it looks great on completion.
